I led spiritual women’s circles and ceremonies for years (extremely deep and nourishing). On one Winter Solstice, preparing the altar with candles, I did a short sound meditation to clear my energy. I received a clear vision of myself as an Inquisitor. On the hunt, seeking the light that glowed within the huts of woman healers. I engaged with that being, and asked why? Why do you want to kill this light? Persecute these servants of community and spirit?
The male inquisitor within revealed that he did not believe he had access to this light. He could not tolerate it being held and shared among others.
I still believe this belief is a deep source of patriarchy, a belief that power over others brings the feelings they lack and crave.
This was a very difficult inner being to reconcile. And ultimately, it gives me greater empathy for all the ones who do not believe they can access the divine.
I am absolutely in awe about your bravery to face this inquisitor and ask him! This is exactly what I am talking about when I say “facing the conflicting lineage”! Thank you for sharing your experience so openly, it confirms mine too.
