Congratulations again, angel. It feels so nice to have it out there now, no? It did for me anyway. I HEAR YOU on the necessity for support in the first trimester. YES! My partner was as always a gift straight from the goddess. But my mother also stepped in. We learned about concentric circles of care; how I am caring and supporting my growing baby & myself to my best ability, my partner is supporting me & himself to the best of his ability, and my mom stepped in to support my partner (in turn supporting all of us) by making sure he has meals ready to go! She is still doing this for him as he has had to take on more around the house whilst also maintaining his work schedule.

THIS WAS EVERYTHING because I couldn’t even stand him cooking in our small home. The house became a hellscape of smells for me during that bit. WE NEED THIS. I am so hopeful as time goes on that our species will remember this kind of care for community.

Congratulations!! I also had nausea with my second, despite trying many things to avoid it. I was still working a lot at the time, so it makes sense I never quite kicked it. But both times the second trimester was soooo much better. The second is my favorite trimester by far—you have more energy and you start to feel the baby move later on, which is really exciting! I hope you feel much better and enjoy this wonderful next phase. 😊

Thank you so much Marcy!! Yes it’s such an exciting journey ahead! I think there should be a first trimester maternity benefit for us to receive just sleep whilst everything else is taken care of
